Build Report:I Build this pedal using a LED/LDR in the local of VTL5C2. I used too transistors BC456,that are equivalents of project. I changed the 47uf capacitor,to 10 uf,for I use this comp with my bass. Te result is great.

Build Report:I built this pedal last night - it was so easy using the PCB I purchased here from tonepad!

I've been etching my own boards, but I'm having second thoughts about that after building this pedal - it cut my build time by 1/3 having the silk screened labels and solder mask!

I didn't have 3904's or the LM358 so I used 5088's and a TL072 instead. I also made my own LED/LDR using a red LED and a 5K/500K LDR.

The pedal worked first time out, and sounds really good! Once I get an LM358 I'll probably put that in (I used a socket) just to see what the difference is.

I managed to cram this into a 1590B - it was a really tight fit, but I pulled it off and it looks and works awesome. Thanks FP!

Build Report:My first build: worked at first start!! This makes me confident about building more difficult ones...

I used all stock components. I got the PCB etched myself and the optocoupler and the LM358 from Smallbear (fast and cheap shipping to France)... I used a Carling DPDT switch, Alpha pots, my jack wires arent't shielded, but the thing's not humming yet...

The tone is great, very neat, and setting the box is the simplicity itself. I get some slight distorsion at 85% sensitivity level, but the lower sensitivity values are just great and fine. A Strat, this pedal, and some clean channel on the amp with reverb, and it's Disneyland!

The offboard wiring is easy to follow, and the whole thing fits in a Hammond 1590B. I strongly recommend this pedal for beginning DIYers like me!

Thanks Francisco for this nice layout!

ps: on the layout, the 22k and 4k7 resistors of the Millenium are inverted, so use the schematics instead... And the pots are shown as seen from above, so please mind your wiring (I made the mistake...)

Build Report:Sounds good, easy build less harsh than the ross compressor

Build Report:Great compressor. I used Silonex NSL-32 vactrol. Worked at first start.

Build Report:This a very clear sounding comp but tends to over-compress at higher settings.
I too used the VTL5C2 from small bear electronics. I owned an original unit and sold it after this build. I still like the Ross comp the best but this one was a fun build.

Build Report:Great compressor! Build went together easy and clean, just like the compressor sounds. Nice tone, quiet pedal, easy operation. I used the VTL5C2 vactrol, metal film resistors, and 2N3904's. A bit of a squeeze in a Hammond 1590B...
Thanks Tonepad!

Build Report:really neat box. i used a ldr/led shrink wrapped together. maybe add a trim to fine adjust any variation in different leds? cool project nonetheless.thanks mr.pena!
